The culmination of a trilogy that began with
Polyester and
The Big Valley, photographer Alex Prager's
Week-End began as organically as her other series. Inspired by the high drama of classic movies, her images seem exquisite on the surface, yet conceal pain beneath the dead eyes. These perpetual blue skies and imported palm trees in the LA landscape underlie a sense of eerie monotony and unease. Running from January 30th through March 6th at M+B Gallery in West Hollywood. It's great in that creepy way.
