Cleopatra: The Exhibition

Recently opened at the California Science Center, Cleopatra: The Exhibition offers a fuller picture of the last Egyptian Pharaoh.  Cleopatra is seen as a charismatic political and religious leader, a woman of great intelligence, a caring wife and mother through artifacts discovered by a French underwater archaeologist who has recently been mapping and excavating the sunken cities of Alexandria.  There are more than 150 artifacts including figurines, coins [bearing her portrait] and a pair of 16 foot granite statues of a Ptolemaic king and queen.  Through December 31st.  www.californiasciencecenter.org
