Homage to Classic Italian Cinema
Launched last week and running through November 27th, the exhibit of Douglas Kirkland's photographic "Homage to Classic Italian Cinema" will be available to the public at the Italian Cultural Institute on Hilgard Avenue in Westwood. Kirkland created the series for Vanity Fair Italia, remaking 25 famous scenes from Italian classics. Using contemporary Italian actors like Monica Bellucci, Giovanna Mezzogiorno and Pierfrancesco Favino to play legends of the past like Gina Lollobrigida, Sophia Loren and Eli Wallach, Kirkland's work puts the style in this year's Cinema Italian Style.
