Straight out of a Dr. Seuss book, the Joshua Tree is a prickly oddity. As we approached Twenty Nine Palms, CA, more and more trees dotted the landscape and during our hikes along the park's nature trails we gained greater appreciation for the tree's importance to the Mojave Desert's ecosystem. At the end of the day we relaxed at the local 29 Palms Inn. It was a perfect [bit rustic] getaway from Los Angeles. The park commemorates it's 75th anniversary as part of our national park system,
