As an artist, John Baldessari has worked in the gap between painting and photography for the last 45 years. After visiting the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's big retrospective of his exploration of language and image making this past Saturday, the two come into focus. Organized by LACMA in association with London's Tate Modern, the show dedicated to the LA-based artist, surveys Baldessari's brilliant rummagings from the early 1960's extending to his classic film-still compositions of the 1980's.
