Holiday lights and more lights

On Saturday night I was invited to take a drive through Pasadena and neighboring Altadena to look at home decorations. What an amazing journey. There were Santa's, snoopy dogs, snowmen, Grinches, elves, angels, penguins, manger tableau's, Sponge Bob Squarepants and gingerbread men. And some of those characters were in the same scene. Who knew that they knew each other? I'm glad that these home owners still took the time to put up decorations and even happier that I won't get their electric bills.

Birds were the theme this year. I clipped little glass sparrows and glittery finches to everything around my apartment. Next year I'm going to add nests. Thank you to my associate, Lisa, who gave me this bubble from Barneys New York.

White Christmas

Last night White Christmas was shown at the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Blvd as part of Movies with Holiday Spirit. With 13 songs highlighted by Irving Berlin's "Snow", "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep" was Oscar-nominated for Best Song in 1954.

Music on Rodeo Drive

'Tis the season to enjoy carolers and musicians in Beverly Hills. Throughout the week, shoppers will enjoy groups of artists on Rodeo, Beverly and Canon Drives.

PROST luncheon

It's that time of year when PROST holds its annual holiday luncheon at Lawry's Prime Rib in Beverly Hills. The Beverly Hills CVB hosted a table of hoteliers for our annual catching-up and gossip hour. Cheers to a great new year! And Tim, I'm sorry that you have a green patch over your right eye - I was trying to get the red-eye out.

Neiman Marcus, 9700 Wilshire Blvd, won Best in Show for the Courier's Holiday Window Decorating Contest. I walked over there to see just what the fuss was about. Each window features a princess in a different environment, magically dressed in fabulous gowns. Here's The Princess in the Garden amid fantastical insects and flowers.
